Testimonials from Shelli's aCHIvers
"Clicking away on a keyboard and sitting
in an ergonomic chair eight hours a day might be productive, but
it sure doesn’t engage your core. I had lost my balance,
stamina and strength. While I still have a long way to go, the
improvement has been dramatic. This class is a must for those who
sit all day. My core and I thank you!"…

"The class description promoted a gain in strength, flexibility and stamina—just
what this 60-year-old body needed. To the tunes of upbeat music, I’m challenged
to flex my ankles, twist my waist and open my hips all without holding my breath.
The result is improved posture and balance, increased awareness of my body and
the ability to not die after twenty Norwegian crunches. Using belts, brooms,
balls and weights, I have been given the gift of an exercise regime that will
enable my body to be healthy for many years"…

"Shelli is an amazing coach and mentor – enthusiastic,
positive, and firm when necessary! I’ve learned to walk a
whole new way (Chi walking), which has not only enhanced my love
of walking, but also improved my technique and fitness. And I’ve
learned to nourish my body (through proper nutrition) and spirit
(through yoga and meditation) with her help. “Joy in Movement” is
certainly a fitting description of the outlook on fitness and health
that I have embraced as a result of her guidance. Thank you Shelli!"

"I tell all my friends about doing yoga because they are
always asking what I am doing for physical therapy after the surgeries.
When they find out it is yoga they think I am nuts. But I feel
so good after our sessions. Strong in mind, body and knowledge
that I am moving forward with taking care of a body I am going
to need for many more years. My core strength has increased measurably,
I can touch my toes when before I felt good to be able to touch
my knees. May marks a year since my last hip replacement surgery.
After 3 years of requiring help to put on my pants, tie my shoes
or get out of a chair, I can touch my toes. I couldn't do that
after six months of physical therapy but after six months of yoga,
walking and some core strength exercises, I can touch my toes,
I can tie my own shoes, put my legs into pants without help and
even get up off the floor without being helped. Yes, I am the loudest
sweatiest and most groaning guy in the group but I am there and
using our time to move forward both mentally and physically. I
wholeheartedly endorse the use of yoga to help maintain a healthy
life. I am also thankful to have an instructor who has kept the
experience light, educational and personally challenging."...

"I have attend Shelli's Yoga class for more than 2 years.
It has significantly improved the quality of my health. When I
first attended her class, I had constant tension headaches. After
a couple of classes, the headaches were gone because my neck muscles
were greatly relaxed. I began noticing that the pain in my fingers
and my knees were reduced as well. I could tell the difference
after attending about one month of the class -- I had more energy
to tackle my work, I did not get anxious easily as before, my metabolism
was higher. After about a year later, my cholesterol had gone down
from over 200 to 170s. My doctor thought I was taking prescription
medicines because of it. This year my good cholesterol has gone
up to 79 which made my doctor very impressed. Now I have stronger
muscles to support my body -- less pain on my knees, my mobility
and flexibility are in greater shape. In conclusion, Shelli's yoga
class helped me maintain both my physical and mental health without
taking any medication - Yes!"...

"Yoga has changed my life in such a positive way. I feel
so much more energized and my body has much more mobility and flexibility.
I was so excited when I was able to do the shoulder opener for
the very first time. Yoga has also helped me recover from my recent
back injury. Shelli has taught me so much more than yoga. She has
taught me to think about how to move, eat, walk, exercise and appreciate
the time that I take from my busy schedule to enjoy my yoga classes."...

"I have been practicing Z-Health for approx. 7 months and am already
quite impressed with the results I am having. I usually do
the R-Phase at least 3 or 4 times per week and am just starting
the I-Phase as well. I have done various forms of Yoga, several
years of Pilates matt and reformer, spin classes, swimming and
weight lifting. I have trained and participated in several
triathlons, run many races and rode many miles in the past and can
certainly appreciate the fact that I was training with less than
optimal joint function. My performances were satisfactory,
but I know without a doubt, I could have transitioned better and
enjoyed the training more, had I known then what I do now.
Probably the most important & noticeable change for me, since
starting Z-Health, has been the absence of needing to
see my chiropractor so much. I was usually going AT LEAST
every 2 to 3 weeks. If I could wait a month, I was doing great! Since
I started Z-Health, I have gone only twice! My job requires
me to stand a lot and do a lot of heavy lifting of animals. I
have been at the same job since 1984. If it wasn't for learning
about Z-Health, I can honestly say, I would have been looking for
another career, as I wasn't sure I would be able to keep doing
the same thing for much longer.
As I approach my 57th birthday, I am pleased to say I feel more
energetic, more confident when I move about, find it easier to
get up from prolonged sitting, have eliminated my chronic back
discomfort and am confident it will only get better as I keep practicing. With
spring on it's way I'm anxious to get on my bike and feel the difference!
I would also add that meeting YOU and having the good fortune
to learn what you were able to share with us last June/July at
Santa Sabina, has been invaluable to me. I can never thank
you enough!!!"
